Small Jobs Numbers Celebrated and Elevated

Proper media should be an exercise in delivering the truth in an unbiased fashion. The reader may not like it; the reader may not agree with it and wish it was not said; but legitimate news should be truthful. Speaking truthfully, current President Joe Biden is judged by a different standard by corporate mass media than his predecessor, President Donald Trump. When tens of thousands of jobs were created every month from 2017-2019, Americans were told that this was actually a bad thing. These jobs don't pay enough; these jobs are temporary; these jobs are coming at too high a cost to the economy. Though after suffering a massive economic setback in the jobs market due to the coronavirus shut-downs, Joe Biden is celebrated as the best economic President in American history every time a company hires 100 people. This artificial inflation of "not bad" news to world-shattering excellent news is really causing more economic harm than good.

The issue is that when the mass media is untruthful about the current state of the jobs market, it causes a false sense of security with many Americans. Americans think that things are good, and so they go and spend their money on goods with inflated prices. This is a good thing for the businesses being patronized, but it's a very bad thing for Americans who are going to be very disappointed when they find out that the mass media is literally hiding the dire state of the economy. When it comes to why the media would do that, people have a lot of guesses. All that can be said for sure is that they are lying to people.

The jobs numbers are the worst they have ever been in American history. This is purely statistical, based on the actual numbers. There are more people who have quit their jobs in the past three months than there were people who lost their jobs in the Great Depression. That is just a fact. That the media will not tell Americans the truth is every bit as scary as the jobs market itself.

Job Reinstatement is Not Creation

Michigan is currently celebrating the creation of 100 jobs in its economy, which cost a total of $6 million to create. At $60,000 an employee, this seems mathematically unsustainable, yet the news is being celebrated and attributed to Joe Biden and his brilliant economic policies. There was also an electric vehicle (EV) plant from GM planning to open, which is said to bring about 5,000 jobs. This is actually good news, and crediting Biden with this is not the worst thing the media has done. However, the sheer amount of politics involved in this is impossible to ignore. Elon Musk opened a new factory that is going to employ 10,000 people, twice as many as GM, and also for EVs, yet there's not a single positive news story about it in the corporate media realm.

Joe Biden is being held up as an economic whiz not only for these 5,000 GM jobs, but also the fact that they're EV jobs, which is a boon for climate change. Though that the legacy media chooses to ignore twice that number really betrays their intent in delivering this news. For the 15,000 people about to be employed, it's fantastic news. For America at large, it's more narrative that's carefully crafted.

Hundreds Don't Help

A hundred here and a thousand there does not make up for the fact that nearly 30 million Americans are unemployed. Why does the government claim that only 6.3 million people are unemployed? It's because they do not count people who quit their jobs, or people who are not filing for unemployment claims or can no longer file for claims due to an extended time on them. Over two-thirds of people who are unemployed are not counted, all so sitting politicians can look good in the eyes of the public. If that's not scary, nothing is.

More Are Still Quitting

The fact is that about 2.5 million more people are unemployed every month on average since 2021 than who actually get jobs. So every time corporate media brags about 5,000 jobs created, they're making the conscious choice not to tell you about the 500,000 who are newly unemployed.

The jobs market is suffering. Pay is still too low for many, and mandates are still being threatened, even with the Supreme Court ruling them unconstitutional. There is a larger crisis brewing in America, and the corporate world doesn't want you knowing about it.
